“Arrest Dr. Kwabena Duffour, Betty Mould Iddrisu And Mr. Barton Oduro In 5 Days”, Says AFAG To Prez. Mills

Pressure group Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) has given President Mills a five day ultimatum to arrest three top Ministers of State named in the Woyome scandal or face a series of legal actions.

According to AFAG the Finance Minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffour, former Attorney General, Betty Mould Iddrisu and Mr. Barton Oduro, the Deputy Attorney General played different roles in the entire Woyome saga and should be arrested to give their side of what transpired before the payment of the judgment debt.

“AFAG can state without any shroud of doubt that the President John Mills is involved in this judgment debt saga; this is simply so because Betty Mould Iddrisu, Barton Oduro and Kwabena Duffour were appointed by and to act on behalf of the President whiles Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh and Paul Asimenu provided technical advice and acted on behalf of their Ministers.”

“AFAG is unperturbed at the attempts by the Attorney-General to hide behind the cover of technicalities to frustrate Ghanaians aiming very well to conceal the well orchestrated gargantuan crime caused by Alfred Agbesi Woyome in connivance with Betty Mould-Iddrisu, Kwabena Duffour, Barton Oduro and the Presidency.”

Convinced that the arrest of the three NDC bigwigs will lead to the recovery of the GH¢51 million cedis paid to Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome as judgment debt, AFAG’s Director of operations, Abu Ramadan gave government a five working day ultimatum to take quick action.

This was at a news conference in Accra on Tuesday where he reiterated AFAG’s commitment to launch series of demonstrations and civil actions nationwide to press home for justice in the Woyome judgment debt saga. The group further advocated the need for an amendment to the fresh charges preferred against the man at the centre of the controversy of the GH¢51 million judgment debt saga, Alfred Agbesi Woyome.

“Until an amendment to the fresh charges is made and the aforementioned Ministers are arrested and charged accordingly, AFAG together with all Ghanaians who believe in the principles of equity, accountability, equality and justice for all will rise and sustain sufficient pressure on government.”
