Berekum Chelsea coach Hans Van der Pluijm insists his side are in contention for a CAF Champions League semi-final slot. The dethroned Ghanaian champions remained in third place with five points, two less than TP Mazembe, who are second, following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Al Ahly in Accra. Chelsea must now win their next match at Zamalek in a fortnight and hope Mazembe slip in Lumbubashi against Al Ahly.
“It is not over until it is over. I believe luck was simply not on our side and that why we couldn’t pick the maximum points,” Pluijm said. We still have a chance to progress and so we’re not perturbed at all. Like I said we were just unlucky and so we’ll see how it goes.”
