The Black Stars arrived in Kumasi on Sunday evening to a rousing welcome from fans and well-wishers. The national team is in the Garden City ahead of Friday’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho. This comes after coach Kwesi Appiah completed the first phase of his training sessions in Accra in preparation towards the two World Cup qualifiers to be played in June.
Twenty three players travelled to Kumasi with defender Lee Addy joining the squad from his China base. Tunisia-based Harrison Afful is expected to join the team by Tuesday as he was in action for his club Esperance over the weekend. The Black Stars will start their training in Kumasi on Monday morning and will play one friendly match in Kumasi before the clash with Lesotho.
