Firstly, never in the history of Ghanaian music video premieres has there been such a crowd of fans and high profile Ghanaian celebrities in attendance as far as I can remember than I saw at D-Black’s VERA Video Premiere Party last two Fridays.
Hands down the most successful Video Premiere Party I ever witnessed in Ghana was what I was at last Friday at the Club Invasion Night Club inside the Krystys Lounge building in East Legon.
In attendance were D-Black himself, Joey B, 4X4, V.I.P, Van Vicker, Joselyn Dumas, R2Bees, Samini, Becca, Lydia Forson, Confidence Haugen of BBA, Kenya’s Millicent of BBA5, RNM of Vodafone Icons, Nokuz of Yfm, Baibee of TV3 Hot Gossip, Alex Biney a.k.a Bomaye, Reggie Rockstone, Kwame Farkye , Eddy Blay, Ded Buddy, Benny Blanco, Lousika, Jay Foley of YFM & 4Syte TV, The 2012 Miss Maliaka contestants, rnb singer Chase, Funny Face, music producers Sammie Blacc and Krynkman, Dr. Cryme, Stay Jay, Scientific, New Black Avenue Muzik signees A.J and Dein plus numerous celebrities in the film and music industry.
D-Black’s party supported by Smirnoff Vodka was jam packed with over 1,000 fans and friends of his having a blast all night through.
Fans were not disappointed in the least when the music video was finally premiered admist screams and shouts of excitement. The VERA music video since its premiere has received a record breaking 100,000 views in a week on the official D-Black youtube Channel (DBlackMuzik) receiving rave reviews on the radio ,t.v and social media networking sites twitter and facebook. This feat is rare for African acts with even the biggest acts in Nigeria as it took Naeto C and D’banj two weeks to hit 100,000 views of their new single ‘Tony Montana’. The first 48 hours saw the ‘VERA’ video hit a record breaking 38,000 views and kept climbing. The VERA video has currently 108,000 views on the DBlackMuzik Youtube Channel only with tens of thousands of views on other authorized channels like BigxWorld and GhanaMusicdotcom.

The ‘VERA’ hit-maker just released a new club banger single ‘Ha Mi Shoulder’ (LISTEN HERE) at the YFM AREA CODE JAM over the weekend with plans are underway to release the follow up to the ‘VERA’ story ahead of his ‘The Revelation’ album release in December.
We say kudos to D-Black and his Black Avenue Muzik team on a highly successful Music Video Premiere Bash, and an excellent record breaking music video.
The Anglophone rapper who has also just recently picked up two nominations for BEST WEST AFRICAN VIDEO at the 2012 CHANNEL O MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS in South Africa for his ‘Falling’ Music Video featuring Nigeria’s Mo Cheddah and another for BEST AFRICAN ACT at the 2012 Nigerian Hiphop Awards (The Headies) is set to release his sophomore album ‘The Revelation’ before the end of 2012.
