Another strong theme which characterizes celebrities in the Western world which we lack here in Ghana is celebrities’ marriage. Over the years, relationships between Ghanaian celebrities have been on thorns of roses. Notably amongst them are; Okyeame Kwame, also known as rap doctor’s break up with Queen of Kumawood; Nana Ama McBrown, Chelsea’s defensive midfielder Michael Essien and award winning actress Nadia Buari. The list of unsuccessful relationships will not be complete without the alleged mobile phone theft scandal between rapper Edem and Ghana’s female representative in the Big Brother Africa Amplified house, Confidence Haugen. There is skewed perspective that might make celebrities’ relationships appear to have a worse success rate than they have in reality.
If this were a relationship status on Facebook, it definitely will be COMPLICATED. Adams Apples Director Shirley Frimpong and and the Artistic Director; Ken Attoh’s relationship can really not be pictured on a larger screen. Though not all relationships do end up in marriages, we are hoping to hear the toll of wedding bells in the soonest possible time since Shirley has given Ken a bouncy baby. I end the tale of the Sparrows here till I get enough information about the sting in their tale. After beaming my searchlight on celebrities’ relationships, there is one enviable couple who stand tall in the spotlight irrespective of pressure their union experiences. Believe it or not, most of their peers in the industry dream of a blissful and happy marriage life as theirs. Fashionable television hostess Stacy Amoateng’s marriage with former Akyeame member Okyeame Quophi is hitting a decade of no media
Stacy started television with Talk Ghana which was aired on TV3 in 2002 and she’s been hosting Ghana’s number one music show: Music Music on same station from 2003 till date. The eloquent hostess has also been the anchor of several shows including Model of the Universe 2004, Face of the Universe International 2006. Okyeame Quophi is a Hiplife artiste, formerly with Okyeame Kwame (Akyeame), Music Producer, and a host of Sound Splash on TV Africa. It is interesting to note that, whenever Stacy takes to the stage every Saturday evening to run her show, her husband also mounts the TV Africa stage to drive the Sound Splash. Speaking to Okyeame Quophi about the ‘EMKLAN’ family, he said;”we welcomed the third four months ago. His name is Josiah Ian Kobby Amoateng. THE LAST BORN!” With much emphasis on the last born, we keep our fingers crossed to see if a new definition will come out of last born as the days go by. We wish this couple the happiest of marriage life as they take giant strides and remain a model for celebrities who wish to come together.
The Latest addition to the Celebrity Romance Saga is that of Beverly Afaglo and Praye Honeho (Eugene). These two love birds recently exchanged vows and we wish them well.We hope they produce showbiz babies soon!
