Issues of fraudulent activities were raised with the inception of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).Various pundicts have alarmed stakeholders on this issue and ways to solve it.
Mr. Nicholas Afram Osei,a senior claims manager of the NHIA, has cautioned health care providers against fraudulent practices that tend to adversely affect the sustainability of the health insurance scheme.
In affirming this at a workshop in Bibiani,he said the filling of claim forms for services not rendered and inflation of the quantity of medicines supplied could not continue.
Speaking at the workshop which was attended by members from various health facilities in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District,he asked the various officers to be truthful to ensure the respect for the scheme is maintained.
In effect,Mr. Afram Osei insisted that claims’ records for submission must be signed by a permanent staff assigned to do so and sent with a summary sheet and a cover letter.
