Tech giant Apple unveiled its new generation of smartphone – iPhone 5. Apple introduced its best smartphone yet. Phil Schiller and Tim Cook took over the stage in presenting the amazing specs and features of the new smartphone.
iPhone 5 is expected to battle head on with Samsung’s latest devices like the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3. Samsung also revealed its amazing Android phone – the Galaxy Note 2, which is the successor of the popular phablet, Galaxy Note. Samsung proudly presented its latest smartphone in the recently concluded IFA event in Berlin.
Below is a comparison of two smartphones to help you decide which to buy later this year.
Design - The iPhone 5 claimed to be the thinnest and lightest iPhone yet, which is available in two business colors (black and white). If the iPhone is slim, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a massive display. The latter is also available in two different colors.
Screen Display - The new iPhone finally let go of its prehistoric 3.5 inch screen and put a 4-inch screen display. The new screen has 1136 x 640 pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. However, it is no match to Samsung Galaxy Note 2′s massive 5.5 inch screen display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution.
Operating System - The iPhone 5 will be run by the new iOS 6. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is supported by Android’s latest mobile software – Jelly Bean.
Processor - iPhone 5 is powered by the new A6 processor. According to Schiller, the chip is 22 percent smaller than the previous A5, available in the iPhone 4S, but is twice as fast and doubles the graphics and computing performance of its predecessor. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will not be left behind with its 1.6GHz quad core Exynos processor.
Connectivity - Both devices supports 4G/LTE connection, which is the latest trend in mobile technology.
Camera - iPhone 5 is equipped with iSight, 8-megapixel camera. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 boasts 8 megapixel auto focus camera with LED Flash.
Battery Life - Apple is promising strong battery life in the iPhone 5. The company claims it’ll deliver 8 hours of 3G talk time and 8 hours of LTE browsing. On standby, the device will last 225 hours on a single charge, the company says. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has 3100 mAh battery.
Based from the aforementioned features, both devices are good choices and has their own perks.
The price of the devices will probably influence consumers’ decision. iPhone 5 will be available for pre-order on September 14 and will hit the Apple Stores on September 21.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be available later this year.
