The Okoyes

Thank God Peter and Paul’s mum didn’t abort them because that would obviously be the greatest loss to African Music. The Identical Twins, Peter and Paul Okoye who together respond to P-Square after inspiring themselves back in a small school in Jos, Nigeria have grown to become the best music duo in Africa. Their award closet is packed with the best silverwares one would ever think of. The Konvict signees and Glo ambassadors are living the good life they have worked for after recently purchasing a private jet.

One noteworthy feature of the Okoye brothers is their ability to make their albums instant hits. Last Nite, Get Squared, Game Over, Danger and Invasion have all stood the test of time if not for any reason, their recent banger with Senegalese-born singer Akon, ‘Chop Ma Money’ is the favourite ringtone and song for the club. The duo have on many occasions faced critics’ assertion that they sample western beats. If you don’t like them as Peter and Paul Okoye, then it might just be game over for you……Meet P-Square.

M.I. ABAGAThe Abagas

‘They Call me M.I Abaga, J Town Rapper, Jesse Jagga Brother’……..You might have heard this on the ‘Somebody wants to die’ song. Yes! Its no Joke. From the city of Jos again comes the Abaga Family of the Chocolate City. I present M.I (Mr. Incredible) known in real life as Jude Abaga who by my estimation is the best rapper in Africa. His protégée , Jesse Garba Abaga, known in showbiz as Jesse Jagz also a Chocolate City signee and a celebrated producer started playing his church’s drum set at age 7.

The influence of their parents who were clergy persons didn’t deter Jude and Jesse who have churned out hits like ‘Weytin dey’,’Number one’,’Represent’ and many more.If a citation is read for M.I and Jesse Jagz it would sure be golden. On a chocolate note I present the Short Black Boy (M.I) and Jago (Jesse Jagz)

Dynamiv duo-bradez

Bradez

The Nsiahs

Take away Otumfour ,Kumasi Asante Kotoko and NPP and Oseikrom will be left with no option but to salute” Best Rapper Alive”, Kwame Nsiah Apau and the most dynamic duo in Ghana music ‘Bradez’ made up of Kwaku Nsiah Boamah (Flowking Stone) and Kwaku Nsiah Amankwah (Kunta Kinte). This Family combined have almost all the topmost awards one can ever win at the GMAs in their awards rack.

The MTN and Coca Cola Brand Icon who is also a father of two has survive the stages music has evolved into for more than a decade. His brothers, The Bradez are a perfect epitomization of creativity, ingenuity and lyrical sensitivity and have worn the hearts of many music lovers in and out of Ghana. Formerly called the “Whiz kids”, Stone and Kunta Kinte have risen from the ‘Kiddafest days’ to be one of the most sought after rappers from the west.

If Kwame, Kunta Kinta and Kwame’s father still had the breath of life, I would with no hesitation call him the ‘Father Of Hiplife’. Its the Rap Doctor, Flowking Stone and ‘the K- to the U-N-T-A!

So it runs in the family and Africa is ever grateful to the parents of these precious asserts we have on the continent. Its yours truly Mawuli Pomary……….
