Kaaki Goes Explicit On New Single.

Kaaki

After an unexpected eviction from the Stars of the future season 5 competition which cast so many doubts on the minds of people, a queen diva of dancehall music in Ghana was born. A third year student of the University of Ghana, and a nurse to be, she is popularly known as Kaaki. This diva who has consistently hit the airwaves with hit singles and exhibited electrifying performances to her songs, “Ewoo”, “Too much”, “toffee pon tongue” and “DC Turn Up” has currently released a good but explicit single.

The single titled “Top Gyal Time” which was premiered in Kumasi on Kapital Radio’s Homestretch is touted by NY DJ to be another hit single from the Xtra Large Music family member however; reservations were made about the song by the host and other callers. In what seemed to be a catchy but yet explicit chorus, Kaaki uses a word which is hardly accepted in the Ghanaian music circus.

Although, the version played on radio was edited to suit radio ethics, people who had had the chance to download the song were surprised Kaaki would go that way all of a sudden after successful hit singles.

The word “p**sy” which sounds awkward kept been repeated in the song. The chorus goes like “Pu pu p*ssy, pu pu p*ssy” which makes it a bit difficult for massive radio airplay. It is therefore necessary for other musicians to be very careful of their lyrics since music is a very powerful tool which has a great effect on the society. Not too long ago, “Ajeii” by R2bees was disqualified for the Vodafone Ghana Music awards due to explicit content.
