Kanye West Debuts ‘Cruel Summer’ Cover Art On TwitterWith just one month away till the debut of G.O.O.D. Music’s compilation album, Cruel Summer, Kanye West took to Twitter to share with fans the official cover.
The Chicago native tweeted the image under the simple caption ”CRUEL SUMMER”, illustrating an all-white statue of a topless woman in elaborate 3D artwork, which will be available in a tri-fold digipack packaging. The piece evokes classical art, similar to West and Jay-Z’s gold-plated Watch The Throne artwork.
Yeezy has debuted two singles from the project, ‘Mercy,’ featuring rappers Big Sean, Kanye West, 2 Chainz and Pusha T, as well as ‘New God Flow,’ featuring Ye and Pusha, with the crew debuting the song during their performance at the 2012 BET Awards.
Although West hasn’t revealed too many details on the album, it may come as some comfort that a few members of the G.O.O.D. Music clan have been kept in the dark too.
Pusha T told Billboard.com that he’s “in the dark just as much as you guys.”
“Nothing is conventional with these guys. It’s to the point now, and it’s so bad, because [West]‘s been so unconventional… that people won’t even accept conventional shit from him. I know we’re not gonna start now,” he said.
Cruel Summer isn’t just set to be just a Yeezy album, as pretty much everyone on the G.O.O.D. Music label makes an appearance, however Yeezy’s influence does dominate the cover.
The debut compilation, which was orginally slated for an August 7th release, has been pushed back to a September 4th release.
