Promoted King Faisal are considering a home venue switch to the Bechem Park for their Ghana Premier League matches. The club have written to the Tano South District Chief Executive Saeed Waziiri seeking approval for the use of the venue as their new home ground.
The Bechem Park is an hour drive from King Faisal’s base in Kumasi. Last season, the venue hosted Bechem United who were making their debut in the Ghana top-flight but could not survive.
“I can confirm to you that King Faisal FC have told us they want to come and use our stadium for their home matches so we have to do our best to bring them around,” Waziiri told Sunyani-based Storm FM.
“We are still on renovation works to make our stadium one of the best because we understand how football can help promote the image of the district.
“We would warmly welcome them with open arms and we would also wish them a healthy stay if they are able to come.”
King Faisal shared the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi with giants Asante Kotoko before their relegation two seasons ago. In the Division One Legaue, they played their matches at the Abrankese Park. Faisal will begin their 2012/2013 Ghana Premier League campaign with an away tie against Liberty Professionals.
