ABOUT 30 TOP notch musicians in the country are getting ready to tour Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale to preach peace through music in a programme dubbed ‘One Ghana Peace Concert.’ Among the household musicians for this commendable project include Kwabena Kwabena, Sarkodie, Kwaku Gyasi, Becca, Efya and Diana Asamoah among other hiplife, highlife and gospel musicians.
The ‘One Ghana Peace Concert’ is a brainchild of Creative Home. The company is also planning to organize a mammoth peace walk in Yendi, Juaben, Nima, Odododiodio, Wa, Bolgatanga, among other places. Throwing more light on their programmes at a press conference, J.K. Sam Biney, Communications Director, Creative Home, said anytime there was a general election in the country, Ghana’s peace was threatened. He said as part of Creative Home’s social responsibility, the company had decided to expend huge sums to organize musical concerts, peace walk, film shows and cleanup exercises across the country, all aimed at educating the people to embrace peace.
Sam Biney disclosed that his group was collaborating with the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Charity Foundation and MUSIGA to make their programmes a great success, stressing, “All we want is a violence free election in Ghana this year.”
Padmore Oppong, in charge of Logistics, Creative Home, said Ghana could not sacrifice its peace, stressing his group was targeting the entire populace irrespective of their political, religious or ethnic backgrounds. Eddie Ray on his part implored the media to use their great platform to make more noise about their programmes, insisting that Ghana could not transform if the country’s peace was threatened.
