The National Organizer for the ruling National democratic Congress (NDC) Yaw Boateng Gyan has urged party faithful not to be disturbed about the new party formed by the former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and other former members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have formed the new political party called National Democratic Party to break away from ruling NDC.
The Electoral Commission has also confirmed it received documents from leaders of the proposed party and was assessing the colours and symbols of the new party to ensure they do not conflict with those of existing political parties.
Nevertheless, Yaw Boateng Gyan stated on Adom TV’s “Badwam” programme on Friday that, this was not the first time the party had experienced a breakaway.
According to him, worse things happened to the NDC which led to the formation of the break way Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) before the 2008 elections, yet, they won the elections.
The National Orgnaiser for the ruling NDC claimed that the new party had dominated media discussions because of the personality of Mrs. Rawlings, but called on NDC supporters not to be discouraged.
He therefore urged the party faithful to rather stand firm and work hard for the party to retain power come Dec.7th.
