Sony’s Xperia Active smartphone launched back in October and is the newest Sony device to get upgraded to Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Owners of the Xperia S, P and U will be jealous yet again as they are still waiting on the update to hit on their next-generation smartphones.
The update to Android 4.0 brings a whole host of new features and improvements to Sony’s smartphone. A whole new redesigned user-interface is the first thing you’ll notice, but it also improves almost ever aspect of the operating system as well as introducing new features such as Visual Voicemail, Face Unlock and Beam support.
Sony’s Xperia Active is aimed at those with an active lifestyle and can easily be used to monitor every aspect of your workout using the iMapMyFitness application, which comes pre-loaded on the smartphone.
The Xperia Active is also a tough-phone which is dust-proof, scratch resistant and water-proof making it the perfect device for the beach or a building site. The rest of the specification is pretty decent too and includes a 3 inch Mobile Bravia touch-screen, 5 mega-pixel camera and support for both 3G and WiFi.
