Victim in Webbie assault says reports are exaggerated

News broke that rapper Webbie had been arrested on charges of assault and robbery after the Louisiana emcee reportedly kicked a woman downa flight of stairs and emptied her purse. Now, in a recent statement from the victim, new details emerge in the case that paint a whole different picture.

Speaking through her lawyer, it turns out that the woman had been involved in an 18-month relationship with Webbie. She indicated that the reports of the assault were greatly exaggerated by the media and has no plans on pursuing any such charges in court.

Furthermore, she added that Webbie did not rob her, but had attempted to non-maliciously withhold funds he had given her to travel out of the state.

As per the statement; she [through her Lawyer] made it clear that ‘The “robbery” was unfortunately a non-malicious attempt, by the accused [Webbie], to deny the woman resources he had given her to leave the city, via air transportation, following their domestic argument. The accused did not “meet” my client [victim] at a party but rather they had been residing together, off and on, for more than 18 months‘ and that she was not “brutally” attacked as reported and she luckily “did not suffer injury requiring medical attention”

The statement also stated the victim’s commitment to “cooperate with officials as required by law.”

So there, Mr. Webster Gradney, Jr.aka Webbie did not rob any random “club girl”. But he did beat her down.
