The Award-Winning Vodafone Ghana Boss, Kyle Whitehill has disclosed that the company would launch a Mobile Money service this year. Kyle Whitehill made the disclosure in an interview with journalists after he won the Telecom CEO of the Year at the Second MobileWorld Ghana Telecom Awards, held at the plush Holiday Inn in Accra.
“We are going to bring mobile money this year I promise – we have been careful about when to bring it but we do not want to bring something that is similar to what is already on the market – we want to bring something that is relevant and that all Ghanaians can be proud of,” he said in answer to a question by Adom News Editor, Nii Narku Dowuona.
He did not give details but Adom News gathered from a reliable source it would be a bit different from the others on the market, which were largely modeled on the famous Kenyan MPESA mobile money service. Kyle Whitehill said winning the Telecom CEO of the year meant a lot to him because “coming from your country to another country to work you would want to do everything to succeed and so to be given the award as CEO of the Year means a lot to me.”
The Vodafone Boss hinted that Vodafone was going to bring products and services to Ghana that “Ghana has not seen before” and continue to provide great network quality, fix broadband that people were proud of and ensure that Ghanaians got value for money in whatever they bought from Vodafone.
