Prince Harry has already earned himself a decade’s worth of embarrassment for the naked photos that surfaced of his now infamous romp in Las Vegas last week, but it may be just the beginning of a bigger scandal for the humiliated royal.
Although the grainy photos of the Prince’s strip billiards game have already been released – displaying the Prince in a less than regal state of array as he bear hugs a naked female partygoer in one photo, and covers his genitals in another – there may also have been video footage from that night, reported Radar Online.
“There is video of Harry partying naked with women in the Las Vegas hotel room,” said a source, reputedly familiar with the situation. “There have been some very quiet inquiries to see how much the video is worth.”
The palace has already tried to minimize the mounting damage from the incident, humorously being referred to by some press sources as “Naked Bear Hug-Gate,” by banning the press from publishing the incriminating photos, although their request was flouted by Rupert Murdoch. But in the event that there is footage of the Prince from that night, further potential damage may be unavoidable.
The Prince is also allegedly “terrified” that more photos from the night may emerge, an anxiety that has only been heightened after pictures that had originally been posted on his Facebook were leaked, from an “even wilder” trip Harry took in the British Virgin Islands, on an island privately owned by Sir Richard Branson, reported the Daily Mail.
According to the source, the video contains evidence that would further tarnish the Royal Palace’s image, along with Prince Harry’s. “If the video goes public this could be the biggest Royal scandal ever,” said the source, who claimed that the video had not been offered to the same outlet that purchased the initial photographs.
“The video has not been shopped around yet, its existence is being kept as discreet as possible,” said the source. “With all the attention the photos got, the people with the video know it could be worth a fortune.”
But the much beloved royal has received an unusually bold show of solidarity from some of his subjects. Just days after his own Facebook page was deleted in a last-ditch effort to protect his privacy, a Facebook group, called “Support Prince Harry with a Naked Salute,” sprung up in the Prince’s honor, encouraging members who have served, or are currently serving in the military, to snap a (censored) naked photo of themself saluting the British flag. The Facebook group, which has already amassed an impressive 15,300 members, many of whom have courageously offered up photos of themselves.
