Watch this man’s death-defying toddler rescue

A toddler in China’s southern province of Guandong narrowly avoided plummeting from an apartment balcony last weekend when his head became wedged in the gap he fell through. That’s already pretty miraculous, but what happened next is even more astonishing.

A ridiculously brave neighbor climbed out his third-floor window and clung to a grating with just one hand, using the other to support the kid till emergency services arrived to help. Onlookers on the street held out blankets to catch the man and the boy in case they fell.

We’re not entirely sure that solution would’ve worked, but luckily the endangered duo was rescued before it had to be tested.
